Quotations Quotes and on-site surveys are always completely free of charge. All written quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated and state the total price for the work described. Verbal indications given over the phone are for guidance only — the binding price is the written quotation we provide after a site visit or detailed discussion. ## 2. Acceptance of work By instructing us - in writing, by phone, by email or by allowing work to commence - you accept these terms. Variations to the agreed scope of work will be quoted separately and require your written or recorded agreement before they go ahead. ## 3. Pricing and payment Quoted prices are inclusive of labour and materials as itemised on the quotation. Prices listed on our price list are starting prices and are shown including VAT at 20%, with the VAT-exclusive figure shown alongside. Emergency call-outs are a fixed price agreed on the phone; there is no separate travelling or call-out charge, and you pay the agreed labour charge plus any parts required. A price given over the phone is an estimate based on the information you provide and is not a binding quote; the final price is confirmed on site before work begins. Out-of-hours rates apply evenings and overnight. For locksmith emergencies we aim to attend within 4 hours across Teesside. Invoices are due within 14 days of issue unless otherwise agreed. We reserve the right to charge interest on overdue invoices in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 where applicable. ## 4. Workmanship guarantee We offer a 12-month workmanship guarantee across every trade. If anything works loose, drips or needs adjusting within 12 months of completion, we will return and fix it free of charge. Manufacturer warranties on installed parts are passed through to you. The guarantee covers defects in the work we have carried out; it does not cover ordinary wear and tear, damage caused by third parties, or pre-existing issues we were not instructed to repair. ## 5. Insurance and liability We are fully insured with £5 million public liability cover. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, our total liability in connection with any job is limited to the value of the work invoiced for that job. ## 6. Cancellation Where you book work by telephone, by email or through this website, or where we agree work at your home, the contract may be a distance or off-premises contract under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. In that case you normally have the right to cancel within 14 days of entering the contract, without giving a reason. If you ask us in writing (including by text or email) to begin urgent work during that 14-day cancellation period, and you then cancel, you remain liable for a proportionate charge covering the work carried out and any parts supplied up to the point of cancellation. Nothing in these terms removes or reduces your statutory cancellation rights. For scheduled non-emergency work outside those regulations (for example business customers), we ask for as much notice as possible; cancellations at short notice may incur a reasonable charge for materials already ordered or scheduled labour.
